Lauryn Jones

I have resided on the West Coast for the majority of this life and have been actively involved in the world of yoga for over 20 years. Throughout this time, I have built a genuine appreciation for the practice of movement therapy in all it’s forms. My goal as a student and teacher is to hold space, inspire and learn from each practice; arriving in Savasana feeling refreshed and a little bit more balanced.

My yoga guiding style is playful, alignment-based and grounding. Some of my favourite classes have been taught abroad in South East Asia, New Zealand and the USA – outside of my comfort zone. I am certified in Bikram Yoga, RYT300, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Therapeutic Yoga. I consider myself to be a life-long learner and am also a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). I was drawn to the practice of massage therapy out of a passion for expanding my knowledge about the human body and an innate desire to help others.

Outside of teaching I’m often found exploring mountains and beaches with my dog and enjoying a great cup of coffee. See you in practice soon!

Carissa

Carissa has recently moved from Saskatchewan after completing her 200hr YTT this summer where she fell head-over-heels for the island. Carissa specializes in Vinyasa flow, and incorporates fun and graceful transitions and movement into her classes that have been inspired from her dance background. Carissa believes that there is no such thing as a “perfect” yoga pose, and invites her participants to drop into their bodies to find and honor what feels best for them that day. Carissa believes in authenticity on the mat, having fun, and never taking yourself too seriously 🙂

Carissa is currently completing her M.A. in Counselling Psychology and is passionate about connecting yoga, breath, and movement with her future therapeutic practice as she believes that mental and physical well-being are beautifully interconnected. In her free time, Carissa loves to explore the island, spend time every day outside in nature, and experiment with some fun and crazy acro-yoga on her mat.

Carissa believes that laughter can truly be the best medicine, and so she invites you to come and find new ways to feel at home in your body, try fun and unique movements on your mat, and share in some laughs along the way 🙂
